Melnic is a recruiting firm for advanced practice providers (APP) that releases an annual salary report. The report covers advanced practice nurses as well as PAs. Overall, the number of respondents is fairly low; however, participation has increased by 349% in the past three years. 14% of the 2977 respondents were PAs.
The lower salary for PAs compared to the average APP could be due to the types of providers included in the report. Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA) are also considered APPs and have a much higher salary than PAs and NPs on average. When looking at Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) salary versus PA salary, PAs out-earned FNPs.
