I went to school back in the dark ages when you’d have to physically walk into the university bookstore and wait in long lines of crazy students trying to buy their textbooks for the semester. Services such as Amazon were not around and I always thought it was a monopoly for the university, as all students had to buy text books from the university book store, or at least that was easiest.
I soon learned that I did not need all my text books and that the library had all the textbooks available for check out. I stopped buying my textbooks and would only buy them if I thought I’d reference it later when I was done with the class. Instead I would use the library copies if needed. By doing this I was able to save hundreds of dollars on text books.

I know some people really like to highlight, underline and make all kinds of marks in their books so they really want new books, but if you don’t mind used books you can save a significant amount of money. You can save up to 90% on used textbooks by shopping on Amazon.
If you recently graduated from PA school and made the mistake of buying textbooks you won’t ever look at again once you’re practicing, or you recently started PA school and no longer need that Psychology 101 book that is in your parents garage you can get up to 80% back by trading them in.
Grad school is typically a time when your bank roll is getting low so save when you can. By not buying books you can save a lot of money. If you decide that some books are worth the cost then make sure you get a good deal on them. If you’re looking for extra spending money start by digging through your old textbooks and see if you can get some extra cash by trading them in.
