Using ZipRecruiter to Find New Jobs

As a newly graduated PA it might be hard to find the perfect job, but there should be plenty of jobs available. When I was doing my clinical rotations in PA school one preceptor told me to remember, “Your first job will not be your last one”. Most PAs will change positions multiple times throughout their career, and finding a starting job is more important than finding the perfect job.
There are multiple companies that can help you in the job search. One of those is ZipRecruiter. ZipRecruiter will send you possible job openings based on your search criteria. As new jobs are sent your way, you can help by responding if a job is a good fit or not.
I tried this out to see what jobs were sent to me. I entered my search criteria so that I would get notifications for “physician assistant” in my area. It did not do a great job at first. I was sent notifications for medical assistant, dental assistant and other positions that were not “physician assistant”. However, as I responded to the notifications the next emails have become more accurate.
Similar to how Netflix uses new technologies to find the perfect movie for you, ZipRecruiter helps narrow the search. As recommendations are sent to you, it is important that you help the program find better matches by giving the jobs a thumbs up or down. The more information you give it, the better the matches will be.

ZipRecruiter is a job aggregator, not just a job board. When a job is posted on ZipRecruiter it is sent out to over one-hundred other job sites. Making it easy for companies to get the word out on open positions.
PA Positions for Job Seekers
ZipRecruiter has several tools available for PA job seekers. The mobile app allows you to take the job search into the palm of your hand. If an employer has posted the job to ZipRecruiter, you can apply with one tap. Additionally, you have access to other jobs that have been posted to other sites. Once your application has been viewed you’ll be given an alert letting you know.
Other tools include an area for applied jobs, and the ability to save jobs to look at in the future. This will help you stay organized with what jobs you’ve applied; and what jobs you might be interested.
